My name is Daniela Dampare and I’m an award winning, African Canadian poet and writer born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

I'm the 4th Poet Laureate of Sheridan College, graduating with an Honours Bachelor's in Creative Writing and Publishing, and an Undergraduate Certificate in Creativity and Creative Problem Solving.

I was a finalist for Stage 32's Comedy Screenwriting 
Contest and a quarterfinalist for Final Draft's Big Break Screenwriting Contest. I currently work as a script consultant and analyst for Darius Films.

I’ve always had an active imagination, sparked by my love for West African films. I fell in love with writing in high school, using poetry as a way to navigate my mental health. I started writing comedy shows and dramas to elevate the mundane things in my life.

My hope is to become a showrunner one day.

Coworkers was placed in the finals of
Stage 32's 5th Annual Television Comedy
Screenwriting Contest (2025),
and made it to the quarterfinals of 
Final Draft's Big Break Screenwriting Contest (2025). 

With colourful characters and an exhilarating storyline, 
Coworkers was an ecstatic script that stood out as one of the top submissions to the judges.

Gen Z is getting older and things aren’t getting easier. Despite us being deemed the "anxious generation," us oddballs have paved the way for so many different, non-traditional career branches. Sometimes, it’s not probable to be your own boss or start your own business, so we resort to the status quo, the nine-to-five.

Training Callie has been read by multiple WGA-writers and producers.
A funny, enjoyable ride that features well drawn characters and a solid plot that emphasizes growth, new opportunities, and stability.

Working as a full time hostess and cashier during my undergrad inspired me to create a love letter for those in the food and customer service industry. Heavily inspired by the shows above, Training Callie is about the importance of growth and the life long journey of finding oneself.

I always wondered what a show about a group of young, mischievous, over-achieving firefighters would look like. Heavily inspired by Brooklyn Nine-Nine, (504) Fire is a silly, chaotic comedy that pulls at the heartstrings.

The folk, soul, and poetic feeling of Hadestown embraces Shakespeare's classic, Romeo and Juliet. Incorporating prevalent issues like discrimination, sexism, and racial injustice, Love, Marilyn is a tragic but bold story. Inspired by the Loving V. Virginia case (1967), the story follows an interracial couple navigating their love in a black and white world.
